Hello, I was recently admitted into Georgetown College! I am so excited, but I just can't make a decision yet. I originally wanted to major in government and possibly combine that with the 4-2 consortium with Columbia University engineering (with the intent of majoring in biomech) career goal= going into government advocacy relating to healthcare funding (I am a type 1 diabetic very involved in government advocacy and this was always kind of my go-to future job). but the more I think about it the more I realize I am very much "undecided" at this point. I am indeed interested in politics, but not sure if I can confidently put all my eggs in that basket at this point. I am also interested in biology (sp. environmental) and am really interested in environmental science/ engineering/ bioethics (maybe going into environmental advocacy as opposed to diabetes???). I was also admitted to Berkeley (engineering) and Boulder (engineering honors program + scholarship) and am struggling with the notion that maybe a larger state school with more programs and stronger engineering/ environmental science programs as well as a strong political science program might be a better choice. AHHHH and I have to make a decision by May 1 :( so if you have any advice/ insight that would be incredible!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH

If you can afford afford the cost of studying in UC Berkeley, I’d say go for it. It is a solid top 3 school for engineering (any major) in the entire nation.

Cal engineering is probably the best choice as it may just be too good to pass up. Cal is a gold standard for engineering - my dad went there many moons ago and had an amazing career. We love Georgetown where our daughter studies govt. and english. My son is interested in engineering, but will not apply to Georgetown as it is not geared toward engineering. If you do choose Georgetown, and engineering is your eventual chosen major, be sure there is a path to the columbia program. If you like the lifestyle, Boulder can be a good choice as they have a strong engineering department and if money is a consideration. Good luck - you must be a great student to be faced with these choices!
