Bowdoin Orient Editorial

The Orient just wrote an editorial directed at 2015 about why prospective students should choose Bowdoin.

[Here’s why: - The Bowdoin Orient](http://orient.bowdoin.edu/orient/article.php?date=2011-04-08&section=2&id=1)

“You know how hyper-competitive the college admissions process can be. Luckily, at Bowdoin you will be spared the agony of fretting about how you stack up to your peers. For the most part, Bowdoin students are interesting, smart and highly motivated, but we like to keep that to ourselves.”

The first time I read this, I think I misinterpreted the last sentence. Out of context, it seems to say “We don’t like to have intellectual discussions outside of class.” But I think what they’re actually getting at is the lack of competitiveness, right?

It means Bowdoin kids are smart but aren’t pricks about it.

It’s speaking to a lack of pedantic-ness.

Thanks. Sorry, it was a pretty dumb question, but it does make me feel better to have it confirmed, haha.
