Hey everyone! Now that we are on board, I’d like to hear if anyone plans on going on a pre-orientation trip. (I am definitely going to do this)

My family says it is a great way to meet people before dorm time and orientation proper.

What are your trip preferences, etc. I am still thinking, but it will most likely include water…

I definitely want to go on a pre-orientation trip... they all sound so fun! I'm afraid I'll embarrass myself though, because I'm not very athletic... haha. I love whitewater kayaking, and the sailing one sounds great as well. I think those are my two favorites so far.

Sailing is pretty awesome - I did it. You don't have to know anything about sailing to do it, though occasionally you'll be told to pull on a rope or something along those lines. It's an amazing trip - bald eagles flew over our boat, seals are on the rocks right near you - fish jumping next to the boat. Quite a good time.

Definitely do the Pre-O trips. An amazing way to meet people and reduce the "first day of college stress". I am still close with pretty much everyone on my Pre-O.

And, if you are really lucky, you'll have me as a leader.

I dunno yet, but it will probably be something hiking related, or atleast terrestrial. I know that they were talking about maybe doing either a backpack/base camping trip in Evans Notch in the White Mountains next summer, and I may be doing that since I know the area well.

insertnamehere- were you training to be a pre-orientation leader over the summer?

Well, the tour guide said the group to the right of us was training to become leaders of something outdoor-related and I can't remember what it was...it could've been pre-orientation but it could have easily been an Outing Club thing---if so---well, I saw you guys!
