Bowdoin-Tufts Admit

What are the chances that someone who got Bowdoin Early Write will also get into Tufts? I'm really nervous about Tufts. I really want to go..

I think you are comparing apples and oranges, even though both schools are excellent.

Bowdoin seems to admit, from my experience, academic, sporty kids (are you one of those?). Tufts has less predictable admissions. Yes, most kids are in the top whatever % of their class, at Tufts, and the mean SAT is high at Tufts, but a lot of the admitted applicants seem to have had some global interaction/commitment, passion for foreign language and some sort of interaction with a project/program, internationally. I am not saying all, just that all the acceptees I know of, and, of course, I don’t know all of them, seem to have had such a background. As well, Tufts, like no other school, puts a profound emphasis on the essay(s), thus their holistic approach to admissions. The essays seem to be a deal breaker for a lot of applicants.

Bowdoin is a great acceptance–wonderful academic, beautiful (!) campus, nice peer group. My neighbor is a graduate of Bowdoin and relished her time there, and she was launched into a very fine law school from there. Tufts, to quote my daughter who was admitted ED1, is “magical” (for her needs and requirements).

Really, congrats on an already wonderful acceptance, and I think you end up falling in love with, usually, where you end up going.
