I need some help everyone. As of now I am considering majoring in biology and I need help deciding between Wash U and Bowdoin. Thanks

Son ran into LAC president in LAC’s college town. (Son’s sister attends said LAC.) Son struck up conversation with said LAC president.

LAC president: “Where will you be attending school?”

Son (smiling): “Washington University in St. Louis.”

LAC president (impressed): “They have the best biology department in the country.”

Son (blushing): “But I won’t be studying biology.”

Just an anecdote, but a true one. Biology rocks, and has the rocking reputation, at Wash U. And it’s not just biology.

Bowdoin is also a great place. But the atmosphere at the two schools is completely different. Bowdoin is a “small, New England, tradition liberal arts college” and all that this entails.

Wash U is a medium-sized, suburban uber-university that has opportunities and activities up the wahzoo. There will be many who disagree, and many who have their favorites.

But one thing is for sure ---- you cannot go wrong with biology at Wash U.

^^Spot on response!
