Hi guys!! So I’ve been accepted both into Midd and Bowdoin (Midd as a feb). I’m super undecided and would like to know peoples thoughts on differences between the two schools specifically regarding social life/party scene. Thanks

Bowdoin student here! I can tell you about Bowdoin’s social life, but don’t know about Middlebury’s to compare. Bowdoin’s social life for first-years and sophomores revolve around the college house system. In an essence, the college house system is an alternative for the greek-life system. Greek life was banned in the 90s. The college houses are, in my opinion, more inclusive and build camaraderie. The college houses are former greek houses and we have 8 of them. These houses are primarily inhibited by sophomores. Each house is affiliated with a first-year floor and each first-year has a sophomore “buddy.” The houses rotate in throwing parties each week. They are a great way to meet upperclassmen and first-years. Hope this helps.
