****brandeis 2021 regular decision thread****

does anyone know when merit scholarships come out???

@agee21 so it came in the mail?

Yes, it came in the mail. There were two letters. One was the acceptance letter and one was the scholarship letter.

Not sure about all LSCs @DIBM96 but I think this may be true for the QBReC program. I don’t remember seeing this before when S was applying for it, but now as per the website there is a 17.5K annual award for QBReC fellows. I hope his invitation to the QBReC open house means he’s receiving this (fingers crossed). Will know when the snail mail arrives.

Does anyone know if an invitation to the QBReC Open House means acceptance into the fellowship? It seems strange to put up invites to the open house before announcing official acceptance into the program

No fin. aid in the mail yet for us either, tho. we live across the country from MA so our mail might be 2 days later than for those of you in New England region.

I live in MA and no package in the mail for me yet either

NY state resident here and no package yet.

considering we’ve only heard on thursday, and there is no mail on sundays
 there wouldn’t be

It arrived in suburban Boston. My D got a “Dean’s scholarship,” so there are scholarships they are giving out that don’t have special invitations or breakfasts, everybody! The financial aid letter is still to come however–ours was not in the acceptance package (besides the scholarship).

DS will speak with an athletics coach this PM (it will be difficult to commit when no fin. aid info yet!) But nonetheless happy to chat with coach. Its such a great area for inter-collegiate athletics (due to close proximity to so many colleges).

The Deans (at least for my D) was 42K total or 10.5K/year. It was a nice surprise because we weren’t expecting anything but I wouldn’t call it a significant amount compared to the cost of attendance.

It looks like the Presidential is in the 15k/year range. The Deans are under the President so I guess that makes sense.

Got a trustee scholarship of 12.5k a year, waiting for financial aid package. At the moment its still totally unaffordable, but I keep hoping for more so I can make my lifelong dream of studying in the US come true

I just received an update on my portal. I got a Trustee Scholarship of $50,000! As a person who wasn’t even expecting an acceptance, I’m beyond thrilled!

Congrats @sou1998! I hope my D ends up in a class that is filled with people who are thrilled to be there!!

Are you seeing an email and clicking through to find the scholarship info or where is it on the portal?

I don’t see anything in my D’s portal. We are domestic and did not get an email. Perhaps the portal changes are for internationals? Do any domestic students have portal changes?

@Mom2JRS I received an email stating there’s an update on my portal. I clicked on the update and the following message appeared-

The Deans scholarship letter is exactly the same (except for the numbers). Ha ha ha!

It’s dated March 23.

Thanks @redpoodles and @sou1998 hope we get an email today too! Congratulations to both of you!
