Brandeis RD

Mid year acceptance! I honestly have no idea how I even got in when I compare my stats to you guys. After getting Waitlisted at the University of Miami and rejected from BC I pretty much ruled myself out for this school.

GPA: 93% with a really big upward trend for the beginning of senior year
SAT: 1880 SAT: 640CR 640M 600W
SAT II’s: Bio - 620 Math I - 620 USH - 610
AP’s: World, US, GOV, Psych (Didn’t send scores) as well as a SUPA Sociology class which I got an A in
EC’s: Not going to list them all because there were a lot. I had a bunch of stuff for the violin and baseball. I also started a food drive that was extremely successful.
Hooks: URM and I had an extremely unique essay which I think is the reason I got in.

I was accepted! I was getting a bit anxious that my school scores and essay might get in the way, so I feel so relieved.

GPA: 3.7 / 4 unweighted
SAT: 2110 (720CR 780M 710W)
SAT II: Jap 800, world history 690, physics 740
No APs
ECs: choir for almost ten years, library science club (art director), theatre (acting, stage managing, playwriting), volunteers for peer support for mental illness.
Awards: national choir comp (3rd), and some writing and speech competitions and singing contests
Other: Asian, quite a bit of adversity overcome

My school grades were horrible (4 Cs and 1 B in math), but my recommendation letters mentioned that the school only accepts the top 1% of students in the country, so I think that helped. My essay was a tad bit risky, as I mentioned my history of depression, but it was only to highlight the actual significant experience and wasn’t a sob story, so I guess it worked.

Accepted!

GPA: 3.54 UW
SAT: 2250 (760 CR 760 M 730 W)
SAT II: 770 US History, 770 Spanish, 720 Literature (didn’t send this one)

Oops make that 2210

Maxyend: They do send them out, I’m also an international and they emailed me saying my app was incomplete around a week after the application deadline. Maybe it went to your spam box?

Any word on what the acceptance rate was?

Accepted!

ECs: varsity xc, mock trial (captain), jazz band, concert band, show choir/stage band, orchestra, chorus/chorale

Had a really good interview & visited campus several times. SO excited, it’s one of my top choices  congrats to everyone!

They do this because they don’t have enough space in the freshman dorms, you are being accepted for a time when a majority of the Junior class will be going abroad so more rooms will open up. It means that they like you a lot and want you to join the class but at this point they don’t have quite enough room. You should be proud! Hope to see you next year!

S Accepted!

SAT: 2010 (740 M, 630 CR, 640 W)
SAT IIs: 730 M 1 (Didn’t submit)

School doesn’t rank.

Full IB program, 5 HL & 2 SL

Not sure what the hook was. Had excellent essays & recommendations.

Congratulations to those who were accepted and good luck to all in your college careers!

I got the email from Brandeis saying that they will release admission on Thursday evening, however, I still didnt hear back from Brandeis.

Is it only me or anyone else who are still waiting for Brandeis?
I am little bit nervous

@ymtmdg1, you mean you checked the DEIS Connect page and there is no result there? Or just that you never received another email saying to check the DEIS Connect page? If you didn’t get the email (and my D didn’t either), just go to the page and check anyway. If there is no result posted on the page, then you should contact the admissions office tomorrow.

@rizado
I checked the DEIS page and still no result updated:(
I wrote email to Admission tho.

It sounds like I am the only one who didnt hear back from Brandeis

Also does anybody know when we should receive our packets in the mail (with financial info)?

@ymtmdg1, don’t assume you are the only one! Not every applicant (or probably even most applicants) reads CC. But I would call the admissions office Monday, or have your guidance counselor do it. I wouldn’t rely solely on email unless you don’t mind waiting a while for an answer.

@wxy789 the online letter said packets will be here within a week–I’m assuming either tomorrow or Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest.

I got my acceptance packet in the mail this weekend but there was no aid info in it

I live approx 30 mins away and have not yet received my acceptance packet. I’m very anxious to see what my FA will look like!

I got accepted with a below average SAT score(1440). my high GPA and academic performance must have made up for it!:D

boooo i got rejected
but i don’t care ay ay ay ay ay
