Mid year acceptance! I honestly have no idea how I even got in when I compare my stats to you guys. After getting Waitlisted at the University of Miami and rejected from BC I pretty much ruled myself out for this school.

EC’s: Not going to list them all because there were a lot. I had a bunch of stuff for the violin and baseball. I also started a food drive that was extremely successful.
Hooks: URM and I had an extremely unique essay which I think is the reason I got in.

I was accepted! I was getting a bit anxious that my school scores and essay might get in the way, so I feel so relieved.

GPA: 3.7 / 4 unweighted
SAT: 2110 (720CR 780M 710W)
SAT II: Jap 800, world history 690, physics 740

My school grades were horrible (4 Cs and 1 B in math), but my recommendation letters mentioned that the school only accepts the top 1% of students in the country, so I think that helped. My essay was a tad bit risky, as I mentioned my history of depression, but it was only to highlight the actual significant experience and wasn’t a sob story, so I guess it worked.

Had a really good interview & visited campus several times. SO excited, it’s one of my top choices congrats to everyone!

They do this because they don’t have enough space in the freshman dorms, you are being accepted for a time when a majority of the Junior class will be going abroad so more rooms will open up. It means that they like you a lot and want you to join the class but at this point they don’t have quite enough room. You should be proud! Hope to see you next year!

@ymtmdg1, you mean you checked the DEIS Connect page and there is no result there? Or just that you never received another email saying to check the DEIS Connect page? If you didn’t get the email (and my D didn’t either), just go to the page and check anyway. If there is no result posted on the page, then you should contact the admissions office tomorrow.

Accepted!!!

@ymtmdg1, don’t assume you are the only one! Not every applicant (or probably even most applicants) reads CC. But I would call the admissions office Monday, or have your guidance counselor do it. I wouldn’t rely solely on email unless you don’t mind waiting a while for an answer.
