<p>no, alumni and friend scholarships are awarded based on need and merit. they are definitely not just for racial minorities.</p>
<p>Hi. I’m a recipient of the Alumni and Friends Scholarship, and I am by no means a racial minority. I’m a US citizen hailing from Hawaii, but am born to south asians and have lived in south asia for most of my life. Also I never indicated race on my application, so Brandeis doesn’t know what I am anyways.</p>
