Brandeis university class of 2020 regular decision thread

Sorry I gave the wrong directions at first. And not sure why it logged me in under a different username this time.

Click the one that says do not have a UNet ID

@asadams1996 Thank you. When I click on “View Financial Aid”, it says that there is a system error? Do we have to wait 24 hours before being able to view this?

We figured out how to make an account the day after my son was accepted. We kept getting the same error message too. (Thought it was just us). I called them and they fixed it. We still didn’t have a financial aid award until today though. I checked this afternoon and it was there. I would give them a call in the morning and ask them to fix it. As a heads up also, you have to log in on two different spots in order to get to the financial aid page.

@MominVT is this the error message? “No student id found. Please contact your admitting department.” after submit.

I think the message we got was that the page was not available or may be expired

Accepted, strongly considering attending.
31 ACT with 35 in reading
4.95 weighted GPA
Father attended Brandeis class of '70
Congrats to everyone else that got in!

Do people talk about financial aid on here? Or is it taboo

I got my financial aid letter in the mail today and it includes Federal Work Study. I was wondering if anyone knows what happens if I don’t take an on-campus job my first year. Will those funds be converted into loans? Scholarships? Or will I need to make up for that by some other means?

If you don’t take the offer of work study, your family should come up with that amount of money. It will not be converted into anything.

Anyway, work study money will not kick in until you actually work for a couple of weeks and get the paycheck, so that’s not the money you should count on in the beginning of school year.

this question is for students who received presidential scholarship, please share what was your sat scores! thank you

how are my chances of getting off the waitlist?

Ayylmao1, I would let them know in some way that you are still interested in attending. I was waitlisted from Tufts and I’m going to email my admissions representative and let her know. (Not sure that I would 100% go if I got off the waitlist, but I may as well try.)

@sveta11 I didn’t get the Presidential, but I got the Justice Brandeis Scholarship. I chose not to submit my SAT. My GPA was a 3.91. I had taken 2 AP’s (English Lang & Bio) junior year, and I’m taking 4 AP’s senior year (Stats, Psychology, Chem & English Lit). I had a good amount of EC’s and yea. Hope this helped!

has anyone who was waitlisted heard anything back from them yet?

Was waitlisted and haven’t heard back anything either. Does anyone know how soon after May 1st we’ll get more of an idea of admission chances?

I was accepted a while back but I am not attending-- I’m going to the University of Connecticut. I had a 28 ACT and a 3.8 UW GPA and a 3.9 W GPA. I was very involved w activities (internship, editor of literary magazine, a handful of community service and volunteer, tutor in and out of school, lifeguard, swim instructor, sport for all 4 years, a few musical instruments casually, etc.) and I had a very strong essay. Hope everyone who was wait listed now has a better shot!
