Recently I have been accepted by Brandeis, NYU and Macalester. Now I am struggling with which school I should choose.
I want to study international relations, and want to study economics or history as my second major (or minor). I wanted to come to you guys to see which school you think is best for me (I am leaning toward Brandeis as of now)
What I want out of a school:
-focus on undergrads
-small class sizes
-less competitive community
-accessible professors
-friendly people
-a school that will set me up for graduate school (currently I want to pursue a phd after graduation)
From the information I have already got, Brandeis has an amazing international and global politics program for undergrad. Students and Professors are all nice and friendly. I am kind of quirky or “nerdy” so Brandeis fits me well. NYU has a wonderful location for finding internships as an IR major, and Macalester has a very strong IR department among LACs.
Could any one give me more insights on how to choose schools from the three?
btw I heard from a lot of students that the IGS program of Brandeis has a pretty high reputation, but I can’t find Brandeis on the IR list of us news rankings or other rankings. I am confused a little bit. Could any one help explain that?
(I am a Chinese student so I am not pretty sure whether the expressions that I choose to use would confuse you lol. I apologize if it happens)
