Be sure this info is provided to the financial aid offices of the colleges applied to, in addition to the info they normally request. And make sure there is a plan that is affordable in the new financial circumstance.
Also keep in mind that most colleges do NOT meet need so it wouldn’t affect your financial aid at most colleges. You’ll have to plan for that.
