Brevard vs. Meadowmount

I'm torn...
I'm a violinist & junior in high school. I attended Brevard Music Center last year and had a good time. This year I decided that I wanted to do something that would stand out on my resume when applying to colleges & conservatories so I applied to Meadowmount School of Music (and to BMC even though I was almost sure I didn't want to go again). But then I got accepted into both programs..and that sort of changed my perspective.
Plus side of Meadowmount:
-Awesome on resume
-Intense Practice (required 4.5 hrs. of practice everyday)
Down side of Meadowmount:
-Got in with a teacher I never heard of - his stats look soso
-No orch (although that's not a huge deal since i'm not a major orch fan anyways)
-Strict environment w/10pm curfew

Plus side of Brevard:
-I know the ropes & friends will be there
-Tons of performance opportunities for this year
-Got in with the best violin teacher there - awesome stats
Down side of Brevard:
-Looks good on resume but doesn't stand out like Meadowmount
-Individual practice time is limited with so many things to do

So I chose to goto Brevard because I figured I'd get a better experience this year. But just curious..when comparing them side by side..how does their weight of prestige compare? Should I have gone to Meadowmount instead? Would that have helped my resume more?

Attend which you think will improve your play more. Summer camp names on a resume are unlikely to mean anything when applying for a performance major.

I agree with Flutemom. When applying to conservatory level music programs, your resume doesn't mean much. They don't really care if or where you go to summer program, how many concerto competitions you have won or if you are in all state orchestra. All they care about is how well you play at the audition. Go to the program that will help you develop your skill the most.

Hey, I'm going to Brevard this summer too! (I'm a pianist who just graduated from high school.) Hopefully I'll meet you there. Jumping off of what others have said, I think that the quality of the teacher is more important than the name of the program. If you think the teacher at Brevard is better than the teacher at Meadowmount, you probably made the right decision. Although practice time is important too. At least you'll probably get more practice time at Brevard than Interlochen - almost everyone in the orchestra program there last year was complaining about the busy schedule and lack of practice time. Brevard isn't trying to fit 8 weeks of camp into 6 weeks! Anyway, it sounds like Meadowmount was mostly about the prestige, and that won't really matter in conservatory admissions.
