I have the Take stock in children scholarship which is just $10,000 in tuition money in the form of florida prepaid. I also have 100% bright futures. I want to attend dental hygiene school at Edison college in ft.myers but there are alot of fees. i can stay with some family so i dont need housing or food money but tuition is only the start of the fees. we have to buy our instrument kit which is $3100! I also will have to take prerequisite courses which only help me get into the program and dont go towards my A.S. or anything. So if my prepaid covers tuition, what will i get from bright futures? will it be enough to cover my $3100 instrument kit after taking all my prerequisite courses for one year? there are also lab fees and uniforms. AH i need help! i dont understand this stuff!

Bright Futures is now paying a set “per credit” amount depending on whether it’s a 2 year or 4 year program and depending on the LEVEL of Bright Futures you qualify for.

If you’re a little short of money, you may have to take a small student loan. You can also work a summer job to earn some money for some of these things.

I don’t know how the pre-paid vs Bright Futures works. The Bright Futures might get applied to tuition first, and then the Pre-paid will get applied to the left-over costs.
