Bright Futures test scores?

Have any HS seniors already applied for Bright Futures?
If so, have your test scores appeared to be verified on the Certification Page?
I sent my test scores to UF months ago and also completed the BF app in December… just wondering if/when it will be confirmed.

Thanks

I find the certification page to be confusing, but I logged into floridashines.org, and was able to verify everything that has been reported to the State for Bright Futures purposes. My whole high school transcript is there, test scores, and my gpa for Bright Futures purposes. The only thing that isn’t there are my community service hours, but my guidance counselor says they have been reported. I may call if my status doesn’t change in a week or two.

I do not attend a public school, so sadly I can’t check that website.
@rccoble When you do log in to the cerfication page, does it mention your score at all, or does it just say:
“Contact your high school counselor to review your status toward meeting Bright Futures initial eligibility.
If you are a public high school student, you may wish to visit www.FloridaShines.org to view your submitted test scores.
FDOE collects SAT and ACT scores one month after national test dates for students who: 1) list a Florida public high school code on their test form, or 2) request their scores be sent to one of the 12 Florida public state universities or 28 Florida colleges (formerly community colleges). If any of your scores are not posted above, please contact SAT at 866-756-7346 or ACT at 319-337-1313 to request a “corrected score report” (with SSN, first name, last name, DOB, and gender matching your high school transcript) be sent to one of the public state universities or Florida colleges.”

I appreciate the help.

The people at Bright Futures are very nice and helpful. You can call them an ask any questions.

@twoinanddone I will most likely be calling them before summer to confirm verification if it isn’t updated already on the website; I’m just wondering if there is anyone else in my shoes.

@AimingTop50
Did you set up.an account?
My kids weren’t public, but could see everything.

@ufmomfriend I’ve never set up an account; my school has never mentioned that site to anybody.

Hmmm. It’s been a long time since we did it, but I can assure you that my kids school was of very little help…so I understand.

@AimingTop50 That’s exactly what my certification link says as well. Very confusing.

Question: Does every student who qualifies and applies for Bright Futures simply receive their award?

The award goes to/through the school.

I mean does everyone who qualifies get their award? No cutoff?

Everyone who qualifies gets it. Many lose them because they don’t take 12 credits or don’t keep up their gpa.

@AimingTop50 Yep same thing for me on the certifications page.

@twoinanddone I received the Medallion scholarship on my NSU Sharklink even though I qualify for the Academic. Do you know what is the cause for this?
