When Bright Futures calculates our gpa for renewal, do they include credits transferred from community college. I'm currently a freshman in college and in high school I dual enrolled at a community college.

Pretty sure they treat dual enrollment courses the same as AP courses, they give an additional point for them and an additional 0.5 for honors.

AP classes count for the initial calculation. They don’t count as part of the college GPA (the course grades for all the credit awarded is S) so those grades do NOT count as part of the GPA when Bright Futures is calculating your renewal GPA. Only classes taken in college count, so the community college credits might. Unless BF only counts GPA for classes taken after HS graduation. Then dual-enrollment wouldn’t count either.

Sorry I didn’t see that you asked about BF renewal. I was talking about first qualifications that they count CC credits like AP credits. Any dual enrollment credits do count toward renewal but AP credits obviously do not. Dual enrollment courses receive an actual grade from the institution your receive it from, therefore you receive a transcript and those grades are added to your overall GPA which would be counted for BF renewal, but not for any Pegasus scholarship renewals. Hope that makes sense.
