Do you know any similar pages for british students/ students interested in GB schools?

I'm really interested in this, too!!!

CC does have an equivalent in the UK -- take out the spaces, otherwise CC blocks the link.

I was thinking of going international in the beginning since my family resides over there. If I get rejected from the schools I'm applying to this year I might be interested switching countries next year.

what do you mean? so who do u live with now if your family is out there?

My Mom was born in England, as was I. We moved over to America when I was 6 months old so 50% of my family still resides in Sussex, England.

oh wow, that's really cool!

crickett, do you know the deadline for boarding schools in UK? At the beginning, I was also plan to UK, but I found they ask for two years test (like SSAT), so I guess I'm too late. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yea. Apparently, you need to apply SERIOUSLY early. They require an ISEE I think and a mess of other things. Also, most reputable "colleges" (thats what they call BS) are solely for 11th and 12th graders.

Crickett, your information isn't quite right - most bs's in the UK (England, at least) begin way before 11th/12 grade. In fact, many, many students attend from what would be the U.S. equivalent of 6th grade. And, the deadline is specific to each school - some fill up very early for the next year; others remain with vacancies into the summer. The more sought-after naturally fall into the former category.

And U.S. students do not need to take the ISEE - most schools have their own tests that they administer to applicants, either during school visits, or at your home U.S. school. My d attended an English bs, and they are wonderful, enriching places.

I checked Eaton's website last year, the asked for their own test and must on their list (they call it Eaton List) at least 2 years. Westminster about the same.

i wish i applied to British schools :) lol

i looked at it for a while. if you want to go you will have to take the exams, but i don't think that they are as strict about the list for americans.
