Hi guys! I’m applying ED to Brown. I just read this whole thread. I laughed out loud when someone said they referred to Brown as their dream man, cause after I toured the campus I texted a friend and said “I’ve found my soulmate.” My friend texted back, “Is his name Mr. Brown?” x ]

But yeah, I’m taking the ACT next Saturday and I’m really motivated to get a good score. I have both of my essays written but I’ll probably revise them a ton. Then I just gotta get some teacher recs and stuff.

I am so obsessed.

So, it’s official. BROWN ED!!! I’m done with my app n will probably send it in a couple of days. I’m so excited!!! ahhhh!!!

Wow, done so soon? Kudos to you pal! I’ve written all my essays, but I’m gonna keep editing them till mid-October.

Do you have to be brown in order to get into Brown University?

Err no way…

korean_dreamer, Did you not start a separate thread to the effect “Do you have to be brown to get into brown university” ? Well, you have to have a reasonable SAT score, serious ECs and letters of recommendations, but most of all you have to be “brown material”. Can you contribute any thing to the brown community? So what is your point asking the same question here?

Hi guys,

I was just introduced to this website and I have found it to be very helpful. I started reading this thread, though not in it’s entirety, and I noticed that there are plenty of nervous students like myself. I’m simply here to kill time. Here’s my short introduction. I also intend to apply to Brown ED not for any particular reason other than that I want to go to school with my sister, whom is a sophomore there. I live in Boston, MA.I look forward to future conversations.

arg sorry for the ignorence, but what is the difference between ED and RD?
why is ED better?
and can you aplly in both?

You can’t apply for both.

ED - if you’re accepted, you gotta attend.
RD - you aren’t bound to attend.

ED’s good if 1) financial aid packages don’t need to be compared and 2) you’re positive that Brown is your numero uno.

got it! thanks!
just one more thing- if you aplly in ED but you don’t get accepted, can you stil be accepted in RD?
and what is more important to brown (for an international student)- high school grades or SAT?

It’s possible. If they defer you, you’re considered for admission again in the RD round. If you’re rejected, it’s the end of your story with Brown.

Definitely HS grades.

thank you for your help!
there’s nothing i want more than to get into brown, even if i still have a few years before i can go there…

final question- are you realy from the gaza strip?
