Brown Arts Supplement

I am a rising senior who is completely set on applying Early Decision. I am extremely active in the theatre community. I have acted in numerous musicals including Chicago and Anything Goes and have directed scenes from Spring Awakening. Lately I’ve participate in musical theatre workshops at a top notch musical theatre community program. I take voice, I’ve had dance lessons, and about to start official acting lessons in the fall. It’s pretty easy to guess that my intended concentration is theatre. Also, If accepted, I would pursue a double concentration with International Relations as the second. I am a huge history buff, but I am not sure what I could do with a History major.

I know Brown allows for Arts Supplements. I would send in some of my work, but I have no idea what to give them. If any one could help me based on the discription above, that would be much appreciated.

Is your focus more on the musical theatre side of things or on the straight-up acting side? If it’s musical theatre, I’d send in a short monologue and one piece on voice (both video if possible). If just acting, I’d send in two contrasting monologues.

More on the musical theatre side, so a video or audio should do it? Thanks! By the way, are you a current student?

Video would be great if you could, just so they could see your acting as well. Yes, I’m a current student - I sent in an arts supplement with recordings of me playing the viola.

I see, I think the video mght be the better option. I really appreciate the help!
