**Brown Class of 2020 RD applicant thread**

BEST OF LUCK! No matter what happens, I am sure you will all end up in great schools! Stay Optimistic XD

You guys are gonna hate me, but it comes out at 4 EST, correct?

@violintigress 5 EST

Where is everybody finding recommended courses?

i’m so scared i see this when i wake up!!! UGHHHHHH I really hope im part of that 9% that gets admitted. …good luck to everyone as well!

Hi guys! Just wanted to say best of luck for the upcoming results and hope everyone does well!

Thanks to everyone. Good luck

Good luck to everybody! You’ll do great things, no matter where you’re attending college… xoxo!!!

UGHHHHH The knot in my stomach gets tighter and tighter with every minute that passes.

Good luck you guys. you will all do wonderful things. I’m excited to meet you all in the future and hear about your many accomplishments (because I know I’ll see you all doing amazing things), even if I don’t even realize it since we are all anonymous haha. Good luck. Rejections (or acceptances for that matter) do not define you. But what does is what you do with the experience. I hope you all receive great news today!

So. Since we are so close to the deadline. Let’s talk about our essays to take our minds off of the impending doom.

For the “why you chose this field” I talked about how neuroscience connects to everything and how it fascinates me. Pretty basic and straight to the point.

For the “why Brown” I wrote about how even though freedom is a central value of our society, I don’t have it in school education and how Brown can finally give me the freedom I seek.

For the moving essay, I kinda just said where I was and at what ages and then said a little sentence reflecting on how I moved a lot throughout childhood and that gave me the ability to fit in to a variety of places.

For the “group” essay, I took a risky path and said I was part of a group of nerds who are composed of many interests and held together by a shared love of learning.

Dear (My Name),

Admission decisions are currently not available. Check the Undergraduate Admission web site for specific dates and times.

The Board of Admission

In an Early Action thread I was in this past november, before decisions we all wrote “future letters to ourselves” where we wrote things to us after our decisions had been opened, before we open them. Maybe we could do the same here? It is surprisingly therapeutic. Of course if anyone is opposed to the idea we could stay focused on asking questions and such.

I remember having that link before the decisions were actually released during ED. However, I don’t have that link right now.

I have a new box on my portal that says:

"Dear Applicant to the Class of 2020,
You may view the decision on your application beginning the evening of March 31, 2016. Whatever the decision, we thank you sincerely for having applied to Brown.

The Office of College Admission"

Of all the colleges I’ve applied to, Brown is seriously the most sincere. One of the admissions counselors actually wrote a letter (snail mail) thanking one of my recommenders for writing the letter of rec. I was shocked to hear he received it.
