Hello, I am an California Community College student at De Anza College. I am an international student, and I applied to Brown, Cornell, JHU, Columbia College, UVA, UPenn, NYU, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, University of Washington, and Notre Dame.
I am an Cultural Anthropology major student with 3.88 GPA out of 4.00 GPA (except untransferrable units)
My major GPA is 4.00 Full Point.
I actually applied to UCs too, but I would like to also know the chances for those out-of-state universities too.
I know out-of-state transfer students have lower chances than those who are local people in those areas.
Also, as an international student, I might have even lower chances compared to resident students…
I do meet the requirements for transferring those schools…
So here’s what I have done so far.
- all the universities that I mentioned require at least 100 points from TOEFL (Eng proficiency) test, and I have 101 points from the test. (Do you think this will affect on my application badly compare to other applicants who have higher scores?)
- I have three recommendation letters from De Anza College.
- I have good essays.
- I have some extracurricular activities
I just would like to know if I have some opportunities to get into those schools with my status,
or is it too far-fetched story as a non-residential, out-of-state transfer student? Should I not expect ?
Thank you
