I am beginning to narrow down my medical school interest and was curious if anyone had any information comparing UPenn, UChicago, Northwestern, Brown, and Yale medical schools. To me, I am mostly looking at how well it looks to get an MD from one of these schools, in addition to which will most likely allow me to choose where I do my residency. Any information would be great, especially if anyone has personal experience or knows anyone with personal experience in these medical schools.

are you a high school kid already worried about grad school? Chill and go to college first.

i’ve seen triathludent on the pre-med board. I think he is in college. Your Step 1 score will play an exponentially larger role in choosing your residency than your school’s name.

Ya I am in college Mandoggy. I was required to do some extensive medical research by my academic advisor to ensure that I make all the requirements for any schools I might possibly apply. Just trying to figure out as much as I can so that I can set goals and be on a plan. I figured the Step 1 score would be important, but does a school’s name have any weight on residency? Thank you. If this is pointless information I am asking, feel free to ignore this post.

Where you apply to depends on your MCAT + GPA. Have you taken the MCAT yet, and are you applying next cycle?

I am not applying next cycle. Thank you for the information though

You may want to post at studentdoctor.net instead. They tend to be a more useful resource for students already in college who are interested in medicine.
