I am beginning to narrow down my medical school interest and was curious if anyone had any information comparing UPenn, UChicago, Northwestern, Cornell, and Yale medical schools. To me, I am mostly looking at how well it looks to get an MD from one of these schools, in addition to which will most likely allow me to choose where I do my residency. Any information would be great, especially if anyone has personal experience or knows anyone with personal experience in these medical schools. I am also interested in the area surrounding these universities.

I’d rank it as:

Yale → Upenn → Cornell.

Where would you put UChicago? Are you familiar with the cities or surrounding environments?

You need to change forums. Go to sdn.com. ( Student Doctor Network). Once there, you can see actual applicants and how they fared from their aps. Most students who are perfect on paper hardly get past the interview stage at more than one of these schools. You need to be completely top notch with tons of research, a near perfect gpa and MCAT and impressive ECs. The site will help you see what others applicants are doing and how you need to proceed to even compete for these schools.
Hope this helps!

You can get into any med school if you differentiate yourself from your class at whatever college you go to. Just pick a school based on atmosphere.
