Brown PLME....How Good Is It?

@aleph0: you have to get in to the college before getting into PLME. And some people have gotten in PLME ED without binding to brown

Right, but your question is what happens if you get deferred from PLME yet admitted to Brown, which doesn’t happen if you do not want to be bound by ED. Note that this doesn’t preclude the possibility of being accepted to both PLME and Brown ED without the binding.

To clarify this (I hope)
If you apply to PLME ED but not binding to regular decision:

If you are admitted to PLME, you are bound to the decision and must attend. (some exceptions for financial aid, but not usually an issue)

If you are rejected from PLME, you will be deferred into the regular decision pool most often (not PLME, regular undergrad.) You will not be told that you are admitted.(and may not be). When standard notifications come, unless you have withdrawn your application, you will then be either admitted, rejected or waitlisted.

If you are deferred from PLME, I don’t think you will be told if you are admitted or rejected etc from the regular undergrad admission. (Your chances of regular admission if you get this are pretty good, but not guaranteed). Then at the standard decision time you will be notified if you are accepted for regular application, and if you have been accepted or rejected from PLME, or wait listed for PLME. If you are waitlisted for regular undergrad, you will be rejected from PLME.
