<p>well, one of the perks I know of is that the psychology department's student to faculty ratio is less that 2:1 and it is really easy to get involved in research for this reason.
For example, Mary Carskadon is considered to be the world expert on sleep and has several undergrads working in her lab.</p>
<p>Another neat thing is that the department is part of the brain sciences program and therefore there is a lot of overlap with neuroscience, cognitive science, linguistics, etc.</p>
