I’ve heard that Brown is notorious for being a little random in whom they accept. How accurate would you say that statment is, and can anyone explain/give an example of how illogical (for lack of a better word) it can be?

No different than anywhere else. We tend to advertise having a more holistic approach and tend not to look quite as much at SAT and GPA, but this statement is simply the line admissions feeds, there is no evidence this is true, and anyone telling you to what extent it is true is doing so through pure conjecture.

The bottom line is Brown, like most schools at this level, has enough people with near-perfect GPAs and near-perfect SATs that this is not enough to differentiate yourself.

lol, i think every top school is like this.

I know for a fact my SAT's didn't get me in. So, there you go.

Oh, I hope I follow in wolfmanjack's footsteps. My SATs aren't great, but everything else should be good enough. :-/ Randomness would really really benefit me. good luckkkk!

I was a transfer and I was older than most students, even seniors, when I applied.

yes, i second what wolfmanjack said. I start this Fall, and now I realize that it must not have been my SAT's either!
