Brown Short Answer...

I wrote an essay that I considered rather risky about how I belonged to a community of Harry Potter fans that grew up with the characters and how that made me feel some type of connection with my generation for my UMich essay...I got accepted at Umich. Now Brown is asking for an essay about a community I belong to and how it has shaped who I am. Brown is a bit more selective...is a Harry Potter esssay too risky for Brown? I like the essay, and considering the app is due in a few days...it would be mighty convenient...but I need some sort of reassurance. :(

Thanks! If you feel the need to read it to make a decision, please let me know and I will PM it to you!

I think that’s an awesome topic! It answers the question, and as a fellow Harry Potter fan, I’m betting it’s something you’re very passionate about. I would go for it. I actually just finished this question, and originally had considered writing something similar but decided against it because I talked about the significance books have had in my life elsewhere in my application.
I’d be willing to read/give feedback if you want

I’ll read it if you look over my Common app essay:)

Sure, I’ll read and give feed back, just PM me~

I am willing to read it.

I’ll read it - I actually wrote one of my Brown short answers about an HP-related topic!
