And learned a few things along the way.

I want to read this book! It is available from Amazon now.

First, it's a bit misleading to say the author transferred to Liberty. He spent one semester there--he talked Brown into treating it like a semester abroad.

I'd read another article about the book. The article was interesting. Liberty has a whole set of penalties for violating any of the rules. I'd been under the impression that if you violated any, you got kicked out, but apparently that's not the case.

In the article, one of the funniest parts was that in which the author admits that he enjoyed dating when he knew he wasn't going to "score." He'd never asked anyone out on a date before and had to learn the Liberty etiquette for doing so. (And he later admits that he violated the rules and kissed the girl on the cheek. They didn't get caught--I hope she's already graduated!!!)

This sounds like a very interesting read - I plan to order it and will report back here.

In it's own way, it reminds me of the Harvard senior thesis written by an African American, Faith Adiele, who temporarily ordained as a Buddhist nun. That experience changed her life. She eventually wrote the book "Meeting Faith: The Forest Journals of a Black Buddhist Nun."
