Has anyone received the brown transfer application yet? I believe remembering that when I requested a paper copy that I was told that would be sent out after December 1st, but I can't be sure. I am getting very anxious waiting for it so I'll be happy with any information anyone has on this topic.

I've requested one a few times from their website. I believe the date was mid December, but I'm not too sure about that either. I'd also appreciate any additional info.

Thanks for answering. It's nice to see another person applying to transfer to Brown. I don't know anyone else who is applying so I get kinda stressed when I have a question and no one to talk to that's going through the same thing.

yeah, i've requested an app at least three times...

i really want to go to brown, but they really stress the fact that they are need aware for transfers, which worries me, but i will apply, nonetheless.

keep us posted if anyone learns anything new!

The site states that the applications will be available in mid-December, so one should not be worried unless it is the 20th of December and nothing has happened.

If December 11th isn't mid december then I don't know what is. (just kidding) I suppose I will just continue waiting, hoping that tomorrow will finally be the day.

I am also pretty worried about the financial issue, I am really starting to debate if I check the finanical aid box or not. I don't want acceptance to depend on if I can pay or not, though they'll likely reject me before they even consider that:)

I am thinking of calling the admissions office tomorrow to check the status of the applications, so I will post an update if I do.

At any rate, I do not remember to what address I requested my application. If it is at Georgetown, I will not get it until January since I am leaving before it arrives. I hope I submitted my home address.

I am actually unsure if I want to leave. I love the academics of this place, but the social atmosphere is unsettling. I do not party at all, and I do not like the party-mentality. I do not agree with the students' approach to studying: they appear to see education as a means to an end, rather than education for the sake of education.

I am lacking academic motivation from my peers, which is what hope to gain from another place.

I might not even apply, or go if I am admitted; Georgetown is a wonderful university despite its setbacks. I just want to see what happens and decide from there.

Well put.

My question: then what are we all doing on this board?

How much is ability to pay really factored into admissions. Will it greatly decrease the chances of getting in? What financial brackets does 'need awareness' effect the most?

Why is it that I feel so incessantly ostrasized by this loving website? Why cannot we meta-analyze our habitual activities as we do the abstract concepts? Oh oh -- oh if my CC comrades would join in me in conquering this trough of uncertainty and WAITING, WAITING pour la decision. GOSH.

You people have no passion. I must resign.

english, i emailed them and asked that question. they said, if admitted, i would receive the same amount of aid as if i were applying as a first-year, which they claim to be 100%. i'm weary about them accepting me for checking the FA box, though. they seem to stress it quite a bit.

nspeds, that's EXACTLY what my situation is too. the people here dont care about learning for learnings sake. the partying doesnt really bother me, because i know that'll be everywhere. i dont party and drink, but if i ever did decide to drink, i wouldnt want to do it with the kinds of people here.
