Brown Transfer Thread 2010

I have alot of questions regarding trasferring to Brown in fall 2010.

First, I’d like to know if I have any chance at all.

I’m a California Community College student and looking to transfer as an incoming junior.
I have a 3.77 GPA and am a Psych major.
I have 120 volunteer hours this year working with the elderly, and another 25 hours working with kids.
I’ve worked 3 part-time jobs over the past year, the most notable of which being a shipment manager at a publishing company.

I was a terrible student in high school and never took the SAT (Do I need an SAT score to transfer to Brown?). My grades have had an excellent upward trend, culminating with a 4.0 in 18 units last semester (6 classes).

If I have very little or no chance, I’ll understand. I am applying to most of the UC’s, and I love it here in California, so I won’t be really disappointed.

Please let me know if I have much of a shot. Thanks guys.

Ya know, there’s actually a Brown transfer thread in the transfer forum, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to have one here too. You would have a good chance if you don’t need any financial aid and you wrote a killer essay.

Honestly, it’s hard as heck to get into though. Just apply and don’t waste too much time thinking about chances.

I’m applying too.

My younger daughter is applying to transfer to Brown (and 5 other schools).

I’m also applying.
