Transfering to brown fall 2010

hey guys, help me out. i want transfer to brown next fall, or spring semester…doesn’t really matter. My high school gpa is not very competitive…3.0, though i have many rigorous courses(APUSH, HCHEM, Hliterature, APgerman…) last two years gpa fell because of problems at home and personal stuff, though i did take a full pack senior year and did pretty well…currently at a communit college and pulling a 3.8 gpa, no science though cause the school has hella budget cuts and not enough room to get into any. Im planning on takin my SAT’s again and hopefully doing better. Brown is an amazing school and is a great place for my poli sci major. What do you guys think…any chances?

Hey, I want to apply too! I’m sure you can get in regardless. I think you just have to have great essays. I tried applying last year but i was too late and a little sloppy with my application so it didn’t work out. I really want to try for sophomore year though! Can’t give my GPA or anything as the term hasn’t ended but so far, ive gotten straight A’s in my mid terms and such.

hey…ino wht your talking bout! some app i sent in senior year i think i had a shot at if i wasn’t so sloppy! well im going to try and see what happens. I added the school on common app so i think ima start my application during winter break. I wanna go to brown because its a great school…IVY and the while the academics are hard the schools atmosphere is warm and welcoming. There recognized for my major…ive heard (poli sci). what other schools are you applying too?

Hi! I’m from Smith College and I’m considering transferring to Brown as well. What sort of GPA do they expect? I had a 3.8 at a college prep school and I hope to have a 3.7 or 3.8 for this semester. Will they take standardized test scores if the test was taken while in college? I really need to re take the ACTs…

I’m applying as a transfer too. My high school grades weren’t too special either and it’s probably bc I’ve moved between five different countriee in the past five years and had to change curriculums a few times. Right now I have a 3.8 gap at a really good school in Canada. Do you think I’d have any chance at admission?
