I think the intellectual abilities of students at both schools are very high. Students take their studies very seriously at Brown but they are typically not competitive (I’m not saying they are at Chicago). My son attends Brown, and the issue of liberal vs. conservative has not come up much. He really liked the vibe at Chicago, too, though. Both are great choices, and if you decide on Chicago, I think you can’t go wrong.

Congrats Chicago is great!

Ok, I dunno if this is important, but it’s me, the OP, again. After feeling pretty sure about picking Chicago, I wanted to sleep on the decision before putting down a deposit. The next day, I realized that I wasn’t sure after all. So for the rest of the month, I flip-flopped back and forth between the two schools. After giving myself so much time and so many pro-con lists, I’ve picked Brown (like, I’ve clicked the accept button and everything). But thanks everyone for your help. Now I really think that either decision would’ve been a good one :]

Thanks for letting us know. Tough decision with 2 great schools to pick from. You couldn’t ever go wrong with Brown.
