Okay, it’s not official yet, but Brown won today, giving them a one-game lead over Harvard, Yale and Princeton with one game to go. Brown’s final game is against Columbia. Columbia is 0-6 in Ivy League play with an average margin of defeat of 33 points. So I think it’s safe to say congratulations to Brown!

brown rocks

I'm in the Brown Band. We play at all the football games (except this year we didn't have the $ to go to Cornell...). They have all been some seriously awesome games. And our one loss to Harvard was intense (I gotta talk about it....)

On our first TD, about 2 minutes into the first quarter, we missed the extra point. The game went on, etc etc, and then with 21 seconds left in regulation play, Harvard got a TD and tied up the game. We drove it down the field in what little time remained, but missed the winning field goal. Neither team scored in overtime. In double overtime, they got a FG and we missed ours. It was such a close game.
I guess the kicker was just having a bad day... he's made some ridiculous kicks since then to vindicate himself. I think he made a 48 yd kick against... hmm... may have been Penn. They all blend together after a while. Haha.

Anyway, I'll be at Columbia this Saturday to watch the probable win as Brown claims their third Ivy League title in team history.

what did the pins at the dartmouth game say, I didnt get to see one.

"Ewe shook me all night long"

Still proudly pinned to my marching band blazer... :D

Hey Brownies, Congrats. AK, always nice to find to another bandie here - I'm in the Penn Band. I got a really good vibe from Brown when I was there for the game. If someone else had to get it, I'm glad it's you.

Just watch out for Penn next year :)

Yay fellow bandies! What instruments do you all play? I'm a mello.

Here at Dartmouth, we watch out for everybody--every year. I can't believe that, overall, we're actually supposed to have the winningest football record in the Ivy League... O.o

Great? i guess...

Hey, ChrisCuber! I'm a 'net. How's the weather up there? It was d_mn cold when I was there in October. Visiting made me sorry I didn't apply, even though the town's so tiny I'd go crazy there.

The Dartmouth bandies I roomed with had movie posters and muppets all over the room, really nice guys. Stayed up talking, seven of us including other Penns, 'til 4. Know 'em?

I can't believe we started out with the winningest football team in the league.... Stupid Br - oops. Nah, I meant what I said before, Brown's cool and why not let someone else have the title for once?

Heya weirdoone, the weather's been freaking crazy since you visited. We had one day where it snowed, and later in the week I climbed a nearby 3000' peak when it was in the 60's! Yesterday, it was really mild, but today, freezing again...oh well.

I probably know the Dartmouth bandies in question, do you remember any of their names? I always wanted to host, but have to work Friday nights, so I can't :(

Oh, and as far as Hanover being small goes, it's not as bad as you might think. I've been to S. NE a few times with the band, and I know our dorm cluster had a trip to Montreal. We have a nearby town that provides all of the essentials a la Borders, Wal-mart, and most fast food joints, only a ride with an upperclassman away. Also, if you're insanely into hiking and peakbagging like I am, New Hampshire is paradise :D

What... impossible! That bastion of liberalism that sponsors questionable parties and promotes such freedom in it's students couldn't possibly be an athletic powerhouse!

Somebody alert Bill O'Rielly. I'm sure he'll want to report it! :D

Weirdone, were you at the Brown/Penn game this year? I was the guy dressed up as a pirate who made a parrot for my shoulder out of one of your balloon swords.

Anyway, I play trumpet, and I'm leaving for Columbia to play at the game in a few hours (5am, 5:30ish). Haha.

Ugggh, I hate those early morning trips. It's bad enough getting up at 8 (I just got out of work now). Anyway, best of luck to everyone, even though I know Dartmouth and Columbia march to their doom.

The brown-dartmouth game had over 8000 people in attendance.

Way to Go, Bears!!!!!!!!!!!! Woooo HOOOOOO!

Again, congrats Brown, you played a good game. I only wish I could say the same for Penn :_(

AdamKidabra, yeah I remember you. I guess the band had a great time at the game today. I couldn't come to the Penn/Cornell game, which was probably just as well since we got killed again. How did we go from #1 to - what is it now? #6?? Just above Dartmouth and the pitable Columbia? Ah well, I guess I'm in the wrong place to whine 'bout that.

ChrisCuber, I think one of their names was Michael. Big guy, brown hair, beard. Then there was a blond guy and a thin guy who might've had glasses.

weirdoone--how can you call Columbia pitiable? At least they scored points today!

As for "Michael"...might his name have been Ryan? He's about the only person of that description in the band I can think of. Not sure about the others...

are you asking how did Penn drop from being so high to so low? Simple, you guys only played ****ty teams, and thus had over inflated rankings.
