Ouch! (10 char)

** HARVARD!!! **

The one good thing about being beaten that badly is you never look back and say "if only . . ." Harvard just got outplayed in every facet of the game. So congrats to Yale for beating Harvard for the first time in six tries. And congrats to Princeton for winning the Ivy League title.

As an aside, Larry Summers used to joke at alumni events about how successful his presidency was because Harvard had not lost to Yale since he became president. So they ran him out of town, and look what happened! ;)

Yale shares the Ivy title with Princeton.

Yale finished with the same record as Princeton, but Princeton wins the tie-breaker by virtue of the head-to-head victory.

The Harvard band was lacking. What's the point of having a prop if half the crowd can't see it? Take an example from the Yale band and make something stellar.

Congratulations to Yale on finally beating Harvard for the first time in this century.

That's a little ironic apfreak, considering that you were probably the most Harvard-obsessed applicant in the history of CC.

Don't rag him. Its healthy for him to bond with his second-choice school. And Ginny Weasley makes two!

The resounding win was due to the fact that the Yale football team was determined to win this year--it was win or die. If the Yale team hadn't won, the players would have probably spontaneously combusted. As well, Chandler Henley is an excellent captain, so that helps.

Well then, aren't I glad that I dodged the "chance" to attend such a less selective, socially inept "institution"....aren't I? Go back and bond yourself with your color, Crimson. I'll take my Bulldog for a walk before I take my crimson for? What was it good for again? Elucidate, my friend.

You would have gone to Harvard in a second if you were accepted. Don't put down an institution just because you didn't get accepted. Also, "Harvard Sucks!"...? Harvard didn't suck for the months prior to decision day if I remember correctly..

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

APFreak,
The game is just an excuse to have a good time. The Harvard-Yale rivalry is only skin deep. Everyone knows that both institutions are terrific, and most people would give their eye teeth to attend one of them. The day after the game, the students and alum of the schools just go about their daily business of being associated with one of the world's greatest universities.

So -- calm down, and enjoy Yale and savor your team's win --preferably on the Yale board. ;)
Happy Thanksgiving. :)

I don't know if it's a given that apfreak would've gone to harvard if he was accepted. I was accepted and didn't go...
but, i definitely agree that the game's all in fun. but it definitely was fun winning this year :)

GiantOreo- he didn't mean that in general he'd expect anyone accepted to go (since many people, like you, who are accepted don't go to Harvard). He's referring to apfreak specifically- if you look at apfreak's history of posts, it clearly shows that Harvard was apfreak's top choice before admissions decisions came out.

He posted extensively on the Harvard boards (including extensive posts on countdown threads), talked about how happy he'd be if he was admitted, etc etc... Few applicants in this boards' recent history were as Harvard-centric.

Understand that I feel there's nothing wrong at all with not getting into Harvard, nothing wrong at all with loving Yale, and I'm thrilled that apfreak is having such a great time to the school he went to. I just find it funny that apfreak pretends to hate Harvard so much when his attitude would be different if he had been accepted.

Cosar:
There is no "tie break" in the Ivy League.
Yale and Princeton officially share the title.
