<p>It's not really a program, so much as a non-binding indication made on your application that you might do both an Sc.B. and an A.B. Try to avoid thinking of it the way you think of 5-year programs at other school, and more like the choice of a major.</p>
<p>You're not applying to be a part of a set program. Brown University only awards students two degrees, and ScB and AB with five years of study, even if the requirements for both are completed before the end of your time at Brown (if that is the case, only the ScB is awarded). The reasoning is that you need to take more course work in general to be awarded to full degrees in two separate areas like that. You are not bound to anything on your application, we are all one college, and there is no applying to be a part of a certain major. You decide that's what you want to concentrate in and they assign you an advisor for that at the end of sophomore year. Change your mind? Fill out a sheet of paper...</p>
