hey, since im from sunny los angeles, i need to get a whole new wardrobe for next yr. can nebody from the east coast suggest some musthaves for philly weather? thx so much:O)

im from canada here, so i can give you some decent cold weather advice depending on how cold it is...anyone know the kind of temperatures one is likely to experience.
anyways...i guess regardless...your staples should be:
1. Heavy winter jacket, make sure its a double layer (then you can zip a layer off and wear only one layer for spring and fall) also, its warmer. if you are a lady...then you might also want to get a more fashionable one (not sports jacket)....depending on wallet size and your style
2. A few comfortable sweaters/ hoodies
3. touque i.e. winter hat
4. gloves, scarf

i doubt you need winter boots/ pants or anything....someone can answer that.
hope that helps

Clothing is the popular new discussion topic on this forum!

If Cali was a cup of water Phil would be that cup of water minus 20 degrees-30 degrees.

I used to live in LA County so I been to both climates. Keep your warm clothes cause it does get pretty warm in the summer and end of spring and beggining of autumn. But then it does get pretty dang chilly in the winter-good enough for a colorful snowsuit if you're bold and truly sunny weather girl to the bone. But I have a feeling that the transition of weather would be one of the smallest transitions you will have to worry bout.

Canada Goose.

Jackets don't get much warmer than that. Plus you would be starting a new trend here, I have only seen one such jacket as of yet on campus.

are you serious...no one wears double layer jackets....hmmm..

Dude it doesn't get that cold here o.0

You need like a coat that's it not some friggin parka

winter:

anything North Face (vest since it isn't that cold here most of the time and jacket for when we go into sudden freeze phrase for like a week or so)

some gloves and scarfs because you'll get cold from walking around

in general:
1. comfy shoes; birkenstocks, uggs if you're into them, sneaks
2. like faux said, it really doesn't get that cold so just as long as you have long pants, you're fine. in the summer, spring, and early fall, it's pretty warm so your cali gear should be fine.

snowwwwww will be gone sooooonnnnnnnnnnn. whyyyyyyy. we didn't even have a day off or anything because of it. two late openings and that's it. i rather get sent home early than having to go to school late. shorty, do you know if it's going to snow anytime soon? or ever before next winter? it's getting been warmer these days to around 30-40 degrees f and i didn't even go sledding during those snow storms (if you can call them storms) because i was trapped at districts orch and studying for midterms.
