Bryant University EA 2017 Admission

@MassDaD68 the waiting is the hardest part… Just looked back at my son’s acceptance date… It was jan 20th by mail. I know you probably don’t want to wait that long but just some info. Enjoy the holidays!

@pkchamp89 Thanks. I follow Bryant Admissions on twitter and they replied to a tweet question on the 9th saying it was next week. But I think I agree with you. I remember seeing somewhere that it was mid January. The hard part is it seems like most EA schools get the word out by Dec 15th. That extra month to wait makes it hard when the schools and social media are buzzing with acceptance letters.

@MassDaD68 I think that the later answers become more common when a college offers both ED and EA. It was the case with a college my D applied to EA as well. I would guess that the college feels that they need to get the ED decisions out first (so students have time to send in additional applications if they don’t get in). I don’t think they feel the same responsibility towards EA applicants since the application is non-binding and it is assumed that they will apply elsewhere.

Still, I hope your S gets an answer sooner rather than later.

@MassDaD68 I know. The waiting is almost painful especially when so many other schools release their decisions. My S was deferred from all his top schools and the holidays were excruciating. Then the wait until March was even worse. Hang in there.

Waiting for EA decision is almost over. Good luck to everyone. My fingers are crossed for good news!

I just saw a tweet by Bryant Admissions that said the decisions will begin to roll out next week. :frowning: I was hoping it would be towards the end of this week. Oh well. The wait continues.

@MassDaD68 Thanks for the update. Thinking good thoughts. Let us know when you hear! Hang in here

Another quick update to the forum.

My son received an e-mail with admission portal links. The e-mail said that decisions will be released on the night of 1/18/2017. So this should be sometime around early evening I would suspect - after the close of business.

It was silent as to what the portal will actually reveal. There are three things that are required, 1) the decision, 2) the merit aid, and 3) the need based aid. I hope the first two are listed when they announce. Byrant does not have a separate honors college like many of the public schools but maybe they do announce invitation to the honors program that they offer.

Good luck to all. This is the home stretch.

By sheer happenstance, my son will be hearing about his acceptances from his least favorite to his top choice. Byrant is basically tied for the top. Decision will come down to the most affordable option.

Bryant is my Ds last EA schools to hear from. It’s not one of her top choices but still a solid option. Good luck to everyone. I am anxiously waiting, hoping for good news.

My S is eagerly awaiting Bryant decision. Just curious, which other schools is your D interested in? Thanks.

My s is eagerly awaiting today’s Bryant decision. What other schools is your S applying to? thanks.

@CTDad4312 Like many local NE students he is also applying RD to Bentley University.

Tonight is the night. Time will be moving slowly. Haha.

Our son got in!! Our other son went there so we are pretty excited! Wondering if anyone knows anything about financial aid packages? He did get a scholarship :):):):) so we are hoping that we get financial aid with it so we can afford it! Good luck everyone!!

The decisions are in! Good luck everyone!!

Whoo. My son is not home at the moment. He is at a track meet. Congrats to your son @Cheryl22 . Would you mind posting your scholarship amount. It would be helpful to others on the forum. I will report back once i hear also.

Oh cool! My son also does track! He was given a Trustee scholarship amount of 25,000 a year. I’m trying to figure out if this is a Merit scholarship? When our other son went there they gave you an outline of scholarship and financial aid. Good luck!!! The suspense must be brutal! Hang in there

My son got in as well. Appears the scholarship is just merit. It did’nt mention financial aid at all. Not sure when that would be coming.

Kind of an important missing piece-at least for us. Congratulations to you and your son. Bryant is a fantastic school! Our other son was hired right out of Bryant and has been working ever since and loves his job. The President places a huge focus on students understanding their strengths so they find jobs they love!

Agreed, more aid in the form of financial aid would be helpful. It says on Bryant’s website that notification of financial aid begins in March so we have that to look forward to!

That is great how Bryant finds jobs for students in areas of strength…that’s all you could ask for as a parent.
