Hello, so I have had an academically good semester at Ohio University but I now know its not the school for me. The large majority of the student body parties every weekend but mostly the distance from home is too much, I'm from CT and it ends up being a full day of travel to get home. Also once I graduate I really want a job in New England which will be much more likely to happen if I go to a in New England.

Anyways, I was accepted to Bryant University with no scholarships or aid. I was accepted to UMass Amherst with in-state tuition, however to get the in-state tuition I would have to be a Social Thought and Political Economics major. This major sounds pretty interesting but I was leaning more towards something in business like marketing or business administration, though I could double major.

Coming from Ohio University, it has about the same amount of students as UMass (about 20,000) but really has a small college feel, Bryant only has about 4,000 students. I think going to a smaller school might be good for me, I had a hard time making friends at OU but that was mostly because they were all into partying but being at a smaller school couldn't hurt. I would also like it if my classes were smaller and taught by professors which I know Bryant has. The downside to Bryant is it would cost about 20,000 more a year. UMass is much more selective but Bryant is a higher ranked business school. Bryant is smaller and just seems easier to manage, also I already have one good friend who goes there, but I don't want to intrude on his college or cling to him or anything. My parents say we can make Bryant work but I may have to help and I could probably become an RA to help cut costs but I don't want to put financial stress on my parents.

Basically my struggle is, I'm leaning towards Bryant but it costs much more and I'm not sure the extra cost will be worth it.

On a side note I also applied to UConn but as I was denied last year I don't think I will be accepted and haven't heard back yet.

I would really appreciate your in-put on Bryant and Umass, their reputation, quality of learning, and general vibe of the school. Unfortunately for now I'm stuck in Ohio and wont be able to visit these schools.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and help me make a decision!
