I’ve been accepted into both, financial aid is pretty much the same. I’ve visited both and like both equally. What are some aspects of the school community, social life, campus dynamics, etc that would be a deciding factor. Personal experiences are also welcome.
Both are terrific schools, but my vote (remember that I’m a stranger on the internet…) would be for Bryn Mawr.
The reason is that although they’re about the same size, BMC benefits from the consortium with Haverford and Swarthmore. That will also open things up socially, as there are many tri-co events.
The other reason is that it’s easier to get to interesting internships, culture and cuisine in Philadelphia
than it is from New London.
You may want to dig deep into the courses and offerings of your potential major and see which school has classes that sound like those you’ll want to take.
Again, you can’t really go wrong with either school.
Agree, Bryn Mawr because of the ability to easily cross register & take classes at Haverford.
Bryn Mawr is about 2 miles from Villanova so another school to visit and partake socially. My son’s friends at Villanova report that the ladies from Bryn Mawr do go to parties and sporting events.
And Philadelphia is close
Bryn Mawr for the consortium and access to Philadelphia, unless you are interested in a specific program that you know is stronger at Connecticut College.
Bryn Mawr also allows courses at Swat and UPenn. Plus there are lots of interesting programs. Bryn Mawr. And Philly is nice.
