So I’ve been looking around Tulane’s website for information about my intended major, Psychology, and I could only find information regarding a BS degree in Psych.
Is anyone aware if Tulane offers a BA in Psych as well? Tulane is my top choice but if it doesn’t offer the option of a BA in Psych then I’ll have to strike it off.
Hey there! I’m a current student at Tulane, so I thought I could be helpful! At Tulane, Psychology is within the school of Science and Engineering, so we only offer a BS in Psychology. One of the benefits of having Psychology in the
School of Science and Engineering is that it is closely associated with our Neuroscience major. Many of our professors conduct research in both and many classes can be taken as either Neuroscience or Psychology major requirement. What do you want to do with your Psychology major after graduation?
@HazelnutorFootball hi, thanks so much for letting me know! I plan to continue with an MA in Clinical Psych and become a psychologist.
It’s just that Tulane is my first choice but a BS would mean having to take a fair portion of Bio, Chem, Physics. And Math requirements, none of which are my forte.
Also, would you mind if I PM’ed you? Like I said, Tulane is my first choice and I’d love to hear first hand from a student about the experience.
@fehministic that’s actually not true about the bio/chem/physics. Check out Tulane’s website and look under Majors and Minors- thee is a pdf/ of the requirements for the Psych major. There are additional science classes required but they are not specific classes.
