BS: Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

I am attending Georgia Tech this fall, currently majoring in biomedical engineering. Recently I came across some information that suggested that a biomedical engineering degree is not as specialized as most employers are looking for. I am considering switching my major and thought chemical/biomolecular engineering would be the best option (when choosing biomedical engineering I planned on focusing on the chemical aspects). Can anyone provide me with more information about this major?

You can do biomedical work with a ChemBE degree. ChemBE is a great broad overview, and you can specialize in basically anything you want afterwards. You can go into pharmaceuticals, petroleum, environmental engineering, etc. Biomedical engineering as an undergraduate major is almost too “niche”

At Tech you could go CheEng and then get a certificate in Biomed Eng or even a minor. That would be a good way to go and open your options much broader.
