BS Chemical Engineering => MS English? => JD (patent attorney)

I am placing before those educated the hypothetical situation of one attaining a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering (that "one" will be me in one year) and then deciding to pursue a Master's in English prior to going to law school to become a patent attorney. You see, I am good in engineering, but I'm not an engineer; I'm a writer. I need to focus on my passion, right? That's why I am considering the decision of “Mastering” in English rather than an engineering field. Sure, the engineering Master's would no doubt, subtly, at least, gain benign recognition amongst future employers in firms – but, what if I pursue a Master's degree in English? Would this be merely an interest-pursuit while altogether forming me into a better writer, or would this somehow look attractive to prospective employers?

Just a thought – Cody

Unlikely that Master’s in English will be of any assistance in obtaining a job as a patent lawyer.
