I'm really into programming and software engineering but I would also like to study the mind and how neurons transmit information in the brain. Would a minor in CogSci be enough and useful in learning stuff like that? Or would a double major be more advantageous?

Also, if there is anyone who followed these paths of interest, how did that end up?

I love Cog Sci. An emerging field. Since you have all the computer knowledge, it seems like a great fit. A double major, if doable, would put you in a really strong position. You’re allowed to cross-pollinate five courses, right?

I am having a similar dillema as you. I am interested in both neuroscience and computer science (specifically brain-computer interface, or bci), and I’m trying to figure out what to major in. I don’t know much about cognitive science: if it focuses quite a bit on neuroscience, than go for it.

Have you ever thought about going into bci? It may be the perfect combination of both your interests.
