BS/MD counselor/Advisor for high school student

Hi everyone, new to CC forum. I would appreciate if you guys could recommend any good BS/MD application advisors/counselors .Someone who you or friends had worked with. Thank you.Appreciate it !

CC forum does not recommend any for-fee advisors/counselors as a matter of policy. Every year there is a thread for bs/md applicants and posters give very good advice for free. For ORMs, near perfect stats and great medical ECs are recommended because of intense competition among ORM applicants. It seems you are an ORM(a guess from your user handle @karuna2810 ).
If you have several thousand dollars to spare, go ahead and hire one for-fee advisor.

Save yourself big bucks-you’ll need it for medical school-and get free advice on this thread. There’s a wealth of experience, and multiple students and schools involved, so post your questions here.

I don’t necessarily advise against hiring for fee advisors/coaches if finances are not a concern (there are many who send their kids to private schools). From among the many equally well qualified applicants, the essays one writes and the interviews and the ECs leading up to the application cycle, all can make the difference.

You may want to check with your or spouse’s company if they provide benefits such as free consultation with college coach companies for children of employees. However they tend to be more generic and cater to the general undergrad applications.

I heard someone mention here about premedhq as the company they used and had high praise for them. But they may be expensive, something to the tune of 15-20k range covering all the 4 years of high school.

@karuna2810
One pays 15-20k to the consultant but still one has to do all the work by him/herself like writing Personal Statement, Secondary essays. One has to do all medical ECs, research work by him/herself. All the grades in HS and the standardized test scores are earned by the student him/herself. What does 15-20k buy ?

Professional Guidance!

Every step of the way, if engaged from the beginning of the high school.
Can be a huge game changer.

(We didn’t due to lack of awareness, but looking back, feel should have - no regrets though, C got into top choice program, doing very well and is happy).
