Any reviews for PreMedHQ

My daughter is in freshman and she decided to go to medicine specially in BS/MD program. Someone suggested to talk to PreMedHQ to groom her to go to BS/MD program.
I spoke to the founder, who was quite impressive and asking for $13500 for 4 years of continuous suggestions/recommendations and later in senior year helping her for college applications. As per them their success rate is more than 90% for BS/MD program.
I would appreciate if someone could provide reviews about this institute if you know anyone who was helped by them to get admission in BS/MD then please give me his/her contact information.

@veenu Both time and affordability is in her favor to get BS/MD admission. So use $13.5k as seed money and raise more funds and ask her to develop a program to help the undeserved / aged population in your community. Double benefits, helps some needy folks and also will help her to demonstrate her passion, create ideas and leadership which are critical.

Ask her to maintain good GPA, test scores and do volunteer work on a consistent basis for the next 3 years and beyond. Read the results threads of the BS/MD threads to get a feel for what students have done to get admission.

I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with PreMedHQ for our daughter, who graduated this 2019. They allowed us to gain admissions into five BS/MDs (Northwestern, Albany, Boston, Hofstra, and Penn) and three ivy schools (Yale, Brown, and Princeton).

What GoldenRock has said in his message is not enough and harmful advice. I am upset to see it. We made this dire mistake with our older son. Two years prior, our older son attempted for the BS/MDs on his own, but was not accepted even with top marks in his class, 35 ACT, research publication, and winning science competitions. My kid is still depressed from the whole process, because he felt he did all for nothing. Now in college, he is no longer a top performer like he was in high school.

So for our daughter, we decided to get coaching from PreMedHQ from her 10th grade. My wife is a doctor and I am in IT. My wife’s colleagues, who are husband and wife doctors, recommended PreMedHQ to us after their son succeeded through the coaching program. We were impressed with the experience and professionalism of our coaching team instantly. Very knowledgeable and they met with us every week. Our main coach is basically like a son to us now. In fact, I made this account to write this review of my experience because our coach requested my help on this, and I am happy to do it.

We have learned from PreMedHQ that all students applying for the BS/MDs have top marks, ACTs, and extracurriculars. However, the small bunch of students who are admitted (5% of 1000 or more applicants per program) can communicate in the essays their maturity, and also their knowledge and love of the medical field. The medical essays is what success in this whole operation boils down to. PreMedHQ excels in this component, and that is the necessary component to gain admissions to these BS/MDs.

Do not make the same mistake we did with our older son and think that general advice will get your kid in to these programs which are more competitive that some Ivy League schools. We made the correct and timely choice of having our daughter go through PreMedHQ. She has a very similar profile as her brother, but she was much more successful in the admissions process because of her excellent essays, applications, and understanding of why being a doctor is special.

I recommend PreMedHQ with my eyes closed to any friend in my community. Their service was the best investment and really a gift for my family.

For parents who are doctors, the 4 years package of $13500 is not that much money considering their coaching service covers both BS/MD and college admission. Parents who sent their kids to prep schools spent way more than that amount in just one-year prep school tuition. Their summer overseas vacation may cost more than that amount.

If your kid has the potential and the parents have the means, why not? To be on the safe side, make sure you get to talk to their real customer(s) to verify the result before paying them. If their service is really successful, they won’t hesitate to give you the reference.

Although the essay is the critical part, but your kid’s SAT/ACT time/scores and ECs are very important and need to carefully plan out in the 4 year high school time. Some consulting service might even pull the string for you for ECs (connect you to the key people) which is priceless for family without connections(medical/research).

If your family income is low, getting acceptance to the need-based top schools (Ivies) would pay for the $13500 in less than one semester (the college will cover most if not entire cost, ie, tuition+room/board).

Does PreMedHQ help you with extracurriculars and if so, to what extent? Are the essay writing and actual bs/md application process advice their main focus? I feel as if my school and grades are high enough but my extracurriculars need a little help so would they be able to help me out with that part?

They might point you to the right direction or even provide some contacts but you still have to do those ECs yourself.

I set up a consultation with PremedHQ and it was supposed to be yesterday but the coordinator never showed up.

@PranavThota2022 - It’s not advisable to use real names on this site.

Make sure that you are getting your 13.5k’s worth of money, wring out all of the help you can get out of them. That’s pretty expensive, and usually there are companies that offer these same admissions help for on average anywhere from 3k-9k.

go with education consultant

It’s your money, but I am aware of multiple successful candidates who didn’t pay $13+K for advice. I’d also note that poster #2 posted that and nothing since; it frankly sounds like an advertisement.

So I’d recommend starting at the CC pre-med multiple degree programs section and working from there before spending that kind of money.
