^ Not that I know of, probably some time in the next week.

I submitted my rpi/amc supplement a few weeks ago but haven’t heard back at all yet? Is this normal

Santos:
Nope, nothing from Rutgers/UMDNJ yet.

Tough to deal with these rejections, to be very honest. Mainly because I was so sure about Drexel/Drexel - I didnt have a list of first and last choices. I would take anything out of the 8 I applied. With Brown and Rice/Baylor really a loooong shot, Rochester and Rutgers are what I am left with. But with all these rejections, I have already concluded pre-med is likely going to my route in my attempt at becoming an MD. Silver lining - more choices open up. Hey, I can even apply to Harvard Med school or John Hopkins :-)

njman94, don’t get worried yet. They’re doing interviews through the end of March.

@laloooji: I know what you mean. I would have to say that the waiting and uncertainty is worse, in a way, than the actual rejection. Waiting for interview notifications and decisions is making me nervous. I’d much rather have one day when the results/notifications come out. But what can we do? I like your positive attitude. Pre-med it is! We’ll take those med schools by storm!

Rejected at all combined programs? Not the end of world! Regular route is competitive, but much less competitive than combined programs.
Going through the regular premed route is not a bad option. I know lots of people who did not get into combined programs and went on to Medical School via the regular route. One person who did not get an interview at HPME, went to a no name state school for UG and ended up at Harvard Medical School. Even in a combined program you cannot slack off. Almost all of the students who successfully complete the undergraduate part of combined programs usually have GPA and ECs needed to get in to Medical School via the regular route.
Many of you getting rejections have great stats and have worked very hard in high school. If work hard in college you have an excellent chance of getting into medical school. Even in a combined program you will have to work hard to stay in the program.

Yes, it is not definitely the end of the world. And it is not just a positive spin on something negative. 7/8 year is one route to get there and if not, there is always another route. As micrus1896 mentioned, even I would prefer getting ONE big kick in the butt and then move on than getting so many smaller ones, one every week!!

But I am always curious to know what gets you in to these programs… Colleges do like to keep all admissions processes subjective. But then it is better to focus on the next steps than looking back…

Congrats to all who have got the interviews so far and good luck to you folks for going to the next step. I know how hard it was for me to get the grades/SAT and do all other ECs etc and so I know it was definitely harder for you guys and it has got rewarded…

Rejected by Norhtwestern HPME.

At HPME, all the guys were wearing suits except for one, and the women were pretty dressed up too. They had us walk for 2 hours total on the 2 tours, but you need to dress formally anyway because everyone else will.

so far interviews at AMC, Boston, and Case. Waiting for HPME

If you have applied to University of Rochester REMS program, here is an update

REMS invitations / decline letters are on their way
I just wanted to let all Rochester Early Medical Scholar applicants know that all REMS invites and REMS decline letters are being mailed today. I’m not sure if they will be picked up by mail services this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Remember… the farther your mailbox is from Rochester, the longer you will most likely have to wait.

Once again, best of luck to all applicants!

Did anyone get a BU call today? I got a message but the person wasn’t there when I called back so I’m calling back tomorrow. I really hope it wasn’t an application mistake or something haha that’d be awfully anticlimactic…

painty, did the message mention an interview or the med program? Just wondering if i can finally stop waiting for my phone to ring :)

Well he said he was from the BU office and wanted to talk to me about the accelerated med program and that he “looked forward” to speaking with me so hopefully that’s a positive thing haha

Do they reject people by phone? That must be horrible.

I don’t know about other schools, but I’m pretty sure BU doesn’t reject by phone. I don’t even know if they send out rejections. Someone on here posted that the admissions office said if you don’t get an interview by late March, you should just assume you’ve been rejected from the program.
A rejection by phone would be awful… haha

It’ll be an interview, congrats!

Sounds like an interview! If so, congrat!
I think a few calls for BU will be made today, and after that I think it would be fair to assume rejection.

It was an interview! I’m going on the week of the 13th
Thanks guys!

I got contacted yesterday for my BU interview! Will be interviewing next week :)

Hey Rrazzberry and anyone else who got a BU interview:
Did you reply to the confirmation email?
