***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2013***

yup!
from their website:
Last year, 1,924 Rice applicants expressed an interest in the Rice/Baylor Medical Scholars Program; 368 applicants were admitted and given the opportunity to compete for admission to the Medical Scholars Program. 43 of those students were selected as finalists and invited to interview with Baylor College of Medicine. After the interviews, 18 were offered admission to the Rice/Baylor Medical Scholars Program and 12 students enrolled.

For VCU, we went to an Honor’s Luncheon on December 8th and my son asked about interview announcements for GMED. He was told they would be out the 2nd week of January. I guess that could be this week or next week since last week wasn’t a full week in January. Should be soon though. They also said notification would be by email.

^agreed. I called VCU today and they said mid-January. So basically a week.

just got the second round interview for TCNJ-NJMS :)

@butterfli123 thanks for posting Rice/Baylor stats. Its really tough - compare it to Brown PLME, that too with out interview:

Number of applicants to PLME - 2011
(324 Early Decision; 1697 Regular Action)

Number offered admission to PLME - 110
(17 Early Decision; 93 Regular Action)

Number of PLME matriculants - 55
(17 Early Decision; 38 Regular Action; 24 males; 31 females)

110/2021 - thats 5%!

@kdong95
Congrats on NJMS! When was your first interview at TCNJ? How did you find out about NJMS interview?

Can you please post your stats for our reference? Also, are you from NJ?

I saw someone mentioned that they got letter for Pittsburgh interview. Do you know if UPitt is done with sending letters for supplemental application for their Guaranteed Medical Program?

bluesky2792 and butterfli123, congrats on your Pitt interview and good luck to you!
Can you please share your stats and ECs? When did you submit your initial application and the supplement?

matrix007 - the PLME Rice/Baylor comparison is apples to oranges.

You have to be admitted to Brown first which is much harder than getting into Rice although their rankings belie the difference. Rice admitted 17% overall while Brown admitted 9.6%.

[2016 Ivy League Admissions Statistics | The Ivy Coach](2016 Ivy League Admissions Statistics | Ivy Coach)

Brown fills a large portion of their medical school with the PLME applicants and so they can admit more and show much better PLME admit rates, assuming you can get into undergrad. However, Baylor is considered much more prestigious and has been ranked as high as 10 a few years ago.

For NJMS: do they send a letter for both rejection and acceptance or only acceptance?

@sanguinee

sorry haha, didn’t specify! for siena/amc

rejected from siena. :(

Long legs sorry :frowning: me too idk why can j give stats? And where else u got interviews please?

Long legs sorry :frowning: me too idk why can j give stats? And where else u got interviews please?

For njms you most probably will not hear back till late march/april if you were not selected for an interview. If you do get one, you should hear by snail mail on a rolling basis.

butterfli123, thanks for your PM. Good luck to you!
