***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2013***

…and I’m hoping that’s a good thing. Did anyone get an acceptance from GW/GW program?

I can make my stats public, I’ve benefitted from these before.

2360 SAT (superscored, 760 reading)
3.75 unweighted (Yes, that includes 7 Bs and a C+)
6 AP classes, 5s on Bio, Chem, Calc AB, Lang, US History. 4 on World History
President of Model UN and captain of Bible Quiz team. Part-time job at supermarket as a bagboy
Currently interning 4 hrs/week with various doctors as part of my school’s pre-medical track.
450 hours of volunteering in the postpartum floor of a local hospital
300 hours of volunteering on medical missions trips to Managua, Nicaragua
150 (6 weeks over summer) at a medical school completing breast cancer research

It’s good, but nothing spectacular. No ISEF or USABO or crazy awards. But it was good enough for VCU!

^ your SAT is f’ing spectacular - I don’t know what UAB was thinking turning you down.

They’re all crap shoots anyway. My chances were way better at VCU; UAB interviews roughly 1 in 11, while VCU interviews about 1 in 4.

Not getting selected by one program means nothing in the BSMD world. One girl from my school was accepted to the Washu program (arguably the toughest one in the country, where they require a 35 MCAT), but didn’t even get interviewed by the Rice or Pittsburgh ones. Some of these are so arbitrary. Try not to let it get you down!

My D got rejection twice from Albany Med (one via Union College and another via RPI)

Just got VCU interview

…Rejected from VCU’s GA Program.

KLM, did they tell you to fill out the Albany supplement for RPI, and when?

3 rejections, 1 interview and waiting to hear from the rest. Pretty depressing turnout so far but you never know what may happen. Good luck guys!

sanguinee, Yes, 1st week of Dec supplement request came from Albany for RPI

For amc don’t worry they’re still sending supplements and interviews!

For amc don’t worry they’re still sending supplements and interviews!

hey guys :slight_smile:
I was just wondering if anyone got a reply from PSU after you confirmed your attendance.

@karajan
I got a confirmation from psu after I confirmed my attendance! But I had also asked for one specifically in my email :)

Also, did anyone hear from Drexel/Drexel or Lehigh/Drexel??

oh i just got rejected from GWU :(

@thanks pinkrose22 :)

Does anyone know how many people VCU accepts after the interview?

I still haven’t gotten an email from gwu. I’m getting nervous, is this probably a rejection. Is it harder than vcu?

I think GW is much harder than VCU. It’s again all a crapshoot, but statistically, they have much lower interview offer rates than VCU (as well as many other BS/MD programs)

According to my BSMD book from 2011, VCU interviewed 60 in 2011 and offered admission to the program to 16 students. Considering exactly 60 will be interviewed again this year, I’d assume about a quarter will actually get it.
