BSC2010 at UF

Many ppl say this is a weed out class. Your grade is based on 3 exams only. And if you did better than your peers, you will get a curve. So for those who have taken this course, how did you study to get that "A" or "B"?

I actually think this class is really easy, but that’s probably because I took AP bio. The first test wasn’t bad, it covered 12 chapters. I ended up getting 100 with the curve. The second test was more challenging because there was some tricky genetics problems, you just gotta make sure you practice those. Right now we are doing the evolution portion, and its much easier than everything else.

Overall, if you haven’t taken AP bio, the best way to study is to read the chapters before class, and maybe outline them. They also added mastering biology this semester which is also a great study tool. I personally don’t consider this a weed out class… the concepts are not that difficult, you just have to be willing to put in some regular studying.

Hope that helps

Thanks, nena101!

Did you buy Smokin’ Notes for this course?

I did. It definitely helps to put all the information together in a summary, but be careful because they sometimes have mistakes. I actually complained about the packet for exam 2 because it had like 3 mistakes, and they told me I would get the exam 3 review for free =D

Nice! From your responses, you’re on the right track! I’m taking BSC2010 this summer for the 2nd time. I hope to get an A this time. I will definitely turn to you for guidance. Thanks, nena01 :)!!!

no problem =D
