BSIB versus BSBA

With the international business program at northeastern you get a BS in International Business.. but at sooo many other schools you get a BS in Business administration.. what's the difference??? Is the BS in international business still as good?? What about applying for grad schools and getting a job- what do they prefer?? Thanks

The BISB program is a highly respected program (ranked in the top 13 by U.S. News). Due to the language requirements and study/co-op abroad component of the program, you will gain some impressive skills and experience that will make you stand out to employers and grad schools. IN SHORT, BISB IS AN AMAZING PROGRAM!!!

Just wanted to mention that I read somewhere (I think in the college majors forum) how international business majors aren't really in demand because companies would rather hire someone who majored in international relations (?) for positions that could be filled by international business majors. Not exactly sure what it said, but I suggest you research this if it concerns you.

Hmmm, that does not sound right. IR students are typically more suited for positions in government. They would not have any of the hard business skills (ie. marketing, accounting, operations, supply chain etc). They would have the language skills though which may get them in the door. However, an IB grad would have the better overall skill sets (esp. if the program that the student attended had a langauge component). But I can tell you that the people who graduate from NEU's IB program end up with great jobs at international companies.
